The afternoon breeze blows through the eucalyptus trees behind my studio. Wind chimes somewhere off in the distance, the chirping, cry and cooing of resident wrens, hawks, doves, crows and feathered friends. I close my eyes and I'm lost up in the trees, never wanting to come down.

I started capturing that feeling first as a digital composition, Up in the Trees. Still captivated, I wanted to go further. The trees on Breeze Hill are massive and a small rendering wouldn't do them justice.

Up in the Trees exhibited at Contemporary Realism, Escondido Municipal Gallery, May 13 - June 4, 2016.

Up exhibited at the 2016 Fine Arts Exhibition, San Diego County Fair, June 3 - July 4, 2016. Honorable Mention.

Up exhibited at Illusion: Abstracts & Surreal, Escondido Municipal Gallery, June 9 - July 1, 2017.

There is something about moving beyond the world of technology and actively touching hand and brush against canvas, willing the thoughts to come to life. The digital composition was where the idea lived. The painting was where it became real.
