Pops begins with an old photograph of my dad: that mischievous, self-assured grin he had his whole life. The young boy appears through a window, its reflection holding not just his face but the world he would grow into. Hot rods, painted flames, big wheels, checkered flags and all things speed and custom cars. The digital composition keeps the warmth and texture of a worn family photograph while expanding the story around it. The boy and the man, held in the same frame.
