Pops begins with an old photograph of my dad with that mischievous, self-assured grin I recognized across his whole life. The image of the young boy seen through a window, its reflection shining back not just his grin, but a defining world he would grow into: hot rods, painted flames and all things custom car culture. The digital composition holds the warmth and texture of a worn family image while telling the rest of the story: the boy and the man. Printed at 24 x 36 inches, it sits between photograph, portrait, and memory that captures the whole being.
